My first layout as a DT for The Lollipop Ladies!

Today there’s a new challenge up at The Lollipop Ladies! The challenge is to be inspired by the colors of this ice cream and to have swirls on your project. Personally, I always try to catch the feeling of the particular picture in a challenge too. In this case I found the candy/picture to be a bit “playful” so that’s what I tried to accomplish with this layout. The picture is of our daughter playing with some finger paint. I thought the colors of this challenge would go best with a colorful picture and this one was perfect in every ways.

I love the colors of this challenge and used them both as ink and patterned papers. I also wanted to incorporate the color of the ice cream stick and did that in the photo mat :). I made the swirls myself, just drawing them on the paper and cutting with a knife. The title is placed on one of the swirls.

Finally I added some matching embellishments and stamped a dragonfly.

Thanks for looking! I hope you will all join this challenge – I can’t wait to see your projects!
Mask: The Crafter’s Workshop; Ink: Ranger ‘Worn Lipstick’ and ‘Dusty Concord’, Versa Color ‘Canary’ and ‘Copper’; Stamp: Panduro Hobby; Mist: Tattered Angels ‘Tattered Rose’ (on the background); Patterned Papers: Sassafras Lass ‘Starters’ (“ice cream stick color”), Pink Paislee ‘Soiree’ (pink), Cosmo Cricket ‘Pixie Licious’ (purple), Echo Park ‘For the record’ (yellow); Embellishments: Basic Grey (rub-ons), Pink Paislee (twine); Rhinestones: Kaiser Kraft (pink), Reprint (purple); Alpha Stickers: Basic Grey ‘Green at Heart’, Fancy Pants (die-cut text).
