A special moment

I couldn’t resist playing along at Kraft it up! this month. The challenge is to create a layout on a kraft paper using three kraft items. Here’s my take:

There’s a special story behind these pictures. As you might know we are renovating our kitchen at the moment. The day we were packing all our stuff in boxes DD was whining all day long. In the evening I finally found out that it was because she thought it was scary. When we stopped packing she suddenly jumped up on a box and started singing with another box on her head. I really love these pictures as that moment was so relieving for my bad conscience.

As the background in the pictures is such a mess I chose to make it black and white. To balance that I added some grey paint on the kraft cardstock. I also splashed some pink and orange paint on it.

The kraft items are some butterflies…

…a kraft colored hex… and some kraft colored pennants.

Thanks for stopping by! And thanks for all your lovely comments!!

Barefoot in March!

Punky Scraps have a fabulous sketch this month with butterflies and paint splash. I love butterflies and I love messing with paint so I feel like doing a lot of interpretations of this sketch… But I will only do one – at least for now. Here it is:
This is a picture of DD walking barefoot in the grass in March! Some years we have snow in March but this year we had a couple of really warm days! It’s such a wonderful feeling after a long, cold and dark winter..!
Here’s a close up:
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week!!!

Monkey

Scrap the girls has a sketch challenge this month. It’s 8.5 x 11 but they also allow 12 x 12 layouts. The requested size (and of course the sketch) made me come up with this idea:
I wanted to create a jungle for the monkey to jump in so I used G 45’s Tropical Travelouge. I decorated the background with ink on a Prima mask. I also added acrylic paint with different techniques and stamped some flowers with some new stamps from Prima. I’m into a doodling period at the moment so I had to add a little bit of that too… ;)

Thanks for looking!!! And thanks for your comments – it really makes my day!!

Egg hunt

This layout is made for a sketch challenge at Veckans Skiss (week 15).
As there are a lot of Rhododendrons in the pictures I choose to draw/doodle some Rhododendron leaves on the background. I also added ink, mist and paint. The dots are made with modeling paste and a template to make some texture. Most of them are then painted with acrylic paint.
I especially want to thank both Zima and Camilla for giving me the Liebster Blog Award. I have received it once before so I decided not to pass it on this time. But I feel so honored to receive it not just once, but twice… and a third time! I’m truly thankful! Please pay these kind and talented women a visit at their blogs! :)
Thanks for looking!!! And thanks for leaving comments! Of course comments in Swedish are welcome too! :)

Giggle

This LO is made for a challenge at Svensk Scrapbooking. I was very inspired by their sketch and I thought it was perfect for this idea that I have had for quite a while.

The LO is about DD and her giggling. She doesn’t really giggle about anything special – it seems to me that it’s the giggling that is the point. :)
This LO is all about paint and doodling. First I colored the background with two shades of Distress Stain. I then made random dots with acrylic paint. Finally I did a lot of doodling. So, so fun!!!
Here’s some close ups:
Thanks for looking!!!

Ps. Det är öppen omröstning i forumet så gå gärna in här och rösta på min layout! Ds. :)

Love to sing

At Svensk Scrapbooking there are some extra challenges going on during Easter. One of them has a bird theme and the challenge is to make a layout with “chickens, hens, cocks or migratory birds”. You are encroached to exaggerate the bird theme. :)
I did a layout about DD who LOVES to sing. She is always singing – about everything possible and impossible. It's mostly songs that she makes up herself :)
Of course I couldn’t resist using a sheet music patterned paper. And of course I couldn’t resist to add a lot of paint on it… ;)
Here’s a chipboard covered with PP and some ink. The eye is a rhinestone. The branches and leaves are cut with a die and doodled.
I thought that tickets suited the theme…
These birds are stickers from Basic Grey.
I hope you like my “exaggerated” bird page! Thanks for looking and for all your wonderful comments!!!
(If someone wants to leave a comment in Swedish, please feel free to do so. :)
Happy Easter!

Two challenges – sugar and spice (part two)

And now to the “cool” page. This LO is made for Punky Scraps sketch challenge (# 44). I loved the sketch and I immediately came up with this idea that is very close to the sketch.
I’ve used the fabulous papers ‘Wonderland’ from 7 Dots Studios. To create the background I used Adirondack Color Wash, gesso, bubble wrap, acrylic paint, mist etc.
So… which one do you like most??? Sugar or spice???
Thank you so much for looking! Your comments make my day! :)

Two challenges – sugar and spice (part one)

This time of the month I’m normally waiting for new challenges to be published. But I found out that Punky Scraps challenges have a deadline about a week into the following month so I have been working with two of them the last couple of days :) The reason I’m calling this post sugar and spice is because the layouts happened to turn out that way – one sweet page, and one cool page. The first layout is for the “Get Picky Challenge” (# 45).
This month you should include: kraft cardstock, a picture of yourself, tree of something, masking and something red, something metal, something lucky, fabric, green paint, something pleated and stitching. Quite a challenge, ha? You don’t have to include it all but I decided to do so. Here’s the result:
On this picture you’ll see; kraft cardstock, a picture of yourself, masking and something red, fabric (the “trim rose”) and green paint.
Here you’ll see tree of something, metal, something pleated and hand stitching. (I stitched the trim to make it pleated).
And finally, something lucky – me and DD!
Thanks for looking!!! The second LO is on its way up!

Our new kitchen

April’s challenge at ARTastic is to be inspired by ‘Café on the Left Bank’ by Julie Podstolski. Your layout should also be “food related”. Looking at my layout you may ask where the food theme is. It’s in the boxes – containing our new kitchen! They will start building it after Easter so we will live in a mess for a while… Here’s my take on the challenge:
I love the colors in this pencil drawing. Isn’t it inspiring?
The background paper is decorated with acrylic paint and black gesso. There is also a lot of fuzzy cutting on this page.
The black flowers are hand drawn.
Thanks for looking!!! I hope you want to join in on the challenge! I would love to put my vote on YOU at the end of the month!!!

You look lovely today

Finally! Last weekend I only managed to make one layout and even though it turned out the way I wanted I didn’t like it. And then I went on a business trip unable to scrap… But yesterday I was back in my scrap room having a LOT of fun! And here’s the result:

The layout is made for this week’s palette at The Color Room. It’s made with my monthly kit (switch) from Zima. Zima went on a scrap exhibition and was kind enough to think of me so this time my kit included some brand new stuff! :)
I used two different techniques with the template. I added paint (blue) and then swiped it of the gesso. I also painted on the gesso (with red).
Here's a picture of the kit:

Thank you SO much for looking! Your lovely comments make my day!!!
