Flea market – DT The Lollipop Ladies

This layout is made for challenge #26 at The Lollipop Ladies. Immediately when I saw the picture of the Biscotti I thought about an idea that I have had for a while – only to use different “newspapers” in different shades. I thought that this picture from a flea market was suitable both in colors and “content”. Our daughter (and I) loves to visit flea markets and recently we found this hat that she can use when she is playing and will dress up as a lady. Cute isn’t it?

The challenge is also to add some texture. I chose to make my own butterflies out of “newspaper” in this way which makes them “lift a bit” from the surface. I also used alpha thickers (that I partly colored with ink).
The flowers are cut with dies and partly colored with ink. I also used Distress Stickles in the middle of two of them to balance the glitter on the butterflies.

The bricks on the background are made by a mask, glimmer mist and Distress Ink. I also used some light purple glimmer mist (also to the left on the lace) and splashed some acrylic paint in different colors.

I will soon publish a tutorial on how to make these butterflies.

Thanks for looking!!!
