There’s a new challenge up at ARTastic’s! This one is really a great one – both the painting to be inspired by and the criteria!!! You just have to check it out!

Here’s my DT layout:

And here’s the inspirational painting – Heart and Soul by Brenda York. The challenge is to be inspired by the painting and to include red hearts and a black and white picture on your layout. The layout should be monochromatic red with a touch of green.

I chose not to do a Valentine layout and instead I did a layout about DD loving to play with her dolls. The red in the painting is almost orange I think, but as the layout should be red I did it in a traditional red tone.

My red hearts are chipboards covered with modeling paste, gesso, glimmer mists and Distress Inks.

The “flowers/wheels” are handmade and inspired by the eye on the painting.
