Taking a bath with the baby doll

On this layout I played with some Tim Holtz/Ranger Core’dination. I sanded the background and I also made some embellishments with an embossing folder and some sandpaper (I cut out pieces of it). The rest of the embellishments are fuzzy cut from Bo Bunny’s Forever Fall. I also splashed some acrylic paint in gold on the background.

Thanks for all your comments, encouragements and inspiration during this year! I wish you all a fabulous 2012!!! Be creative and have fun!!! ;)

The smell of Christmas

This layout is made for White With One. This month the challenge is: White + Christmas themed + Christmas photo. You can stick with one color or “run wild and use as many as you want”. I chose a picture of us decorating the Christmas tree. I love this tradition – and I love the smell of the Christmas tree!
The background is sprayed with green glimmer mist and the “wood pattern” is made with a template and some brown Distress Ink. The embellishments are mostly from Crate and October Afternoon, but I made some of them myself. They are all decorated with some extra rhinestones or Distress Stickles. The “flowers” are made of brads and some tinsel from the Christmas tree!

Thank you all for looking!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!

The reason that I haven’t posted anything here for so long is not that I haven’t been scrapping. It’s because it’s dark outside when I go to work in the mornings and it’s dark again when I come home in the evenings. So the only time I can take good pictures of my layouts is at weekends – and I forgot to do so last weekend… So finally… here’s a layout I have done for a challenge at Punky Scraps.

The challenge is to get inspired by the following picture, to use the following sketch and to include some of these:
·         corrugated cardboard
·         stamping
·         paint
·         misting
·         stars
·         ribbon

I loved this sketch and I followed it quite closely. I used red acrylic paint and black Distress Ink behind the picture, and splashed some acrylic paint to create the “punky” background in the sketch.

This is my first entry at Punky Scraps – but it will not be the last… If you haven’t checked it out you definitely should! It rocks!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!! Thank you so much for looking and leaving lovely comments!!! Big Christmas hugs from me!!!

Autumn’s palette

This Lo was SO fun to do! The background is made with Adirondack Color Wash on white cardstock. I only used 4 different colors but as they blend together you’ll find “all the colors in the word” on the page if you look closely. It was an experiment and I loved it! I will definitely try again!
The LO has an autumn theme and I mixed leaves that I bought with leaves that I made with a Tim Holtz die (and Distress Ink). You’ll also find some fuzzy-cut wild animals.

I hope you enjoyed looking even though it’s not a Christmas LO. I did this background paper back in October and after finishing my 18 Christmas cards I felt like doing “something else”…

Thanks for looking!!! And thanks for your comments!!!

PS. I will soon be back to present the winner in my challenge!

Enter my yellow, black & grey challenge before the 8th of December!

As there are a couple of you ladies who have been positive towards entering my challenge I decided to postpone the deadline until the 8th of December. That will give you another 4 days to create! So far there is one entry. You can look at that beautiful layout here.
I hope I will see some more entries!!!
Remember, there are some goodies to win!!!

Longing for Christmas

Are you longing for Christmas? Or at least for doing a Christmas themed layout? If so, you should have a look at ARTatsic’s December challenge. The inspiration painting is “A Blessing of Christmas” by Thomas Kinkade. To get the extra bonus points you should include a snowman, a Christmas Tree and use the word ‘Christmas’ in you title.
When I saw this painting I got a feeling of wanting to be part of something or longing for something (to join the celebration in that house) and I thought of our daughter who was longing for Christmas (this was in the beginning of November).
To capture the colors in the painting I chose a light green paper with Christmas pattern for the background. I spayed some yellow mist to create some “light” and white gesso to create “snow”. If you look close you can see the yellow “light” as stars trough the “snow”. I also added a lot of different Christmas embellishments, including the requested ones.

I hope you want to join the challenge!!!

Happy Birthday!

This picture of DD is taken on the morning of her birthday when she got all her birthday presents. She looks quite happy, don’t you think?
I colored some of the dots on the black and white Bo Bunny paper using Distress Ink. The banner is from Lily Bee and the “flower” is from Basic Grey’s Indie Bloom.

More embellishments from Basic Grey’s Indie Bloom and a fuzzy-cut flower from Basic Grey’s Piccadilly. The “bow” is made of a die-cut from BG, trim from Glitz and some rhinestones.

The pennants are from GCD Studios Funhouse, the “flower” from BG and the card from Sassafras Las.

The chipboard bird is colored with acrylic paint and Distress Stickles.

Thank you SO much for stopping by and leaving comments!!! It really makes my day!!!

Bright color at White With 1

This month the challenge at White With 1 is to use a bright color and flowers. I chose to use purple and to add a lot of flowers.
The background is colored with Adirondack Color Wash and two shades of Glimmer Mist. The flowers are a mix of Prima flowers, white flowers that I colored with Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Glam and flowers die-cut from patterned papers. The fibers are colored with Color Wash.

Thanks for looking!!! And thanks for all your heart-warming comments!!!
