There is an awesome mood board in an awesome color combination at Scrap The Girls this month! Here is my DT layout:
I used a transparent word sticker on a patterned paper to create an embellishment in the right color and the right theme.
I was happy to find a balloon in exactly the right nuance in my stack.
Don't forget to take a look at the other DT ladies samples for some gorgeous inspiration!

Climbing the top of an old volcano
This month
at ARTastic you should be inspired by a painting by Luka Va. You should also
use wood veneers or birds on your page. I used both.
I used watercolour and acrylic paint on my background. I also used two different patterned papers with birds and one wood veneer with a geo tag.
Here are two close-ups:

Your beloved cat
This month
Pixels and Paper has a vintage photo (and an association to Mother’s Day) as an
inspiration. I was inspired by the embroidery and wanted some stitches on my
page (sewing is something that I strongly associate with my mother). I
used a patterned paper with stitches (the striped paper) and I also doodled
some zigzag stitches with a
black pen (to the left of the photo).

Playing with dolls
Here is my
DT-layout for Scrap The Girls. It is a sketch challenge this month. I chose to
use paint to create the rectangular form in the sketch. I also doodled a frame.

Painting eggs
This layout is made for the April challenge at Show Us Your Stuff. Thay have an awesome pastel moodboard to be inspired by this month. You should also include a handmade embellishment. Here is my take on it:
I made an Easter layout with "Easter embellishments". The photo shows DD and her friend decorating ester eggs. They were both painting and decorating with stickers. I cut out some eggs from a pattern paper and asked DD to decorate them with stickers as they did on the real eggs on the photo. Those are my handmade embellishments.
Here is another close-up:

The world is yours
This is a layout that I made just for fun. This time I used a patterned paper as background. I have not done that for ages as I thought that would not work together with water colors and acrylic Paints backgrounds. It was fun to try and I actually loved the result.
I added blue water color, lime green mist and cerise acrylic paint to the background paper.
Here are two close-ups:

DD's learning new scrapbooking techniques
Here is my DT-layout for ARTastic's April challenge. The inspiration piece by Roy de Maistre is called Frozen Music. The criteria is swirls.
Sometimes our daughter makes a kind of drawing that looks a bit like the inspirational piece. I asked her to draw one in the same colors as the inspiration picture and used it as a patterned papers. So there you will find my swirls.

Ferris wheel
Scrap The Girls has an awesome color combination as inspiration this month! I loved the colors and used them all in different ways - water colors, acrylic paint, patterned papers, ink and embellishments. I also added some gold as the details on the cups.

“If you love my smile I will sleep with it"
I just realized I forgot to
show you this layout that I made for Scrap The Girls for March. It is a sketch
challenge this month and the sketch is quite far from what I usually create. So
it was a challenge. But I love challenges and I really love the result.
Maybe it is hard to see,
but I followed the sketch quite closely. I placed both the title and the
flowers in the right place. It is just that my flowers are on patterned papers
and on stamps.
The text on the layout says: “If you love my smile I will sleep with it". That’s what our daughter said one night when she was going to bed. I reached for the camera to be able to save the memory.

Mud all over
March challenge at ARTastic
is to get inspired by a painting by Barbara Hanrahan. The criteria is to
use a quote or a saying on your page. I chose a quote by Albert Einstein saying
“Play is the highest form of research”. I thought it was perfect with this
photo of DD and her friend with mud all over them. I guess they have done some research... ;-)
I used some grey watercolour
on the background and splashed on acrylic paint in different colours to enhance
the mud-theme. It’s been a while since I used that technique and it was SO fun! I also added some acrylic paint in neon yellow to match one of the reflective vests on the photo. Here are two close-ups showing the techniques:
I hope you feel inspired and decides to play along! You’ll find the rest of the DT’s awesome inspiration here.

The challenge this month at Allt Om Scrap is to create something using the frase Baby it's cold outside. I was waiting for the snow to fall but it never came: So I added the word not and made a layout about the winter beeing warm instead. Here is my DT-layout:
I used some water color, acrylic paint and stamps to create the background.

Love to run
ARTastic has a painting by Josh Miles as an inspiration picture. The criteria is: color palette. I loved these soft colors and here is my DT-layout:
The photo shows our daughter running at that path along the beach that was my favourite place to run when I was a little girl. I loved to watch her running there... She loves to run - ant time and anywhere.

PL cards with different mixed media techniques
Today I
show some different ways to use mixed media techniques to create your own
personal PL cards at Allt Om Scrap. (And of course I show it here too). I have kept
it a secret during the whole year of 2014 that I have been doing PL pages. ;-)
But I have had a lot of fun and sometimes I think it is fun to create personal
cards that match the photos.
On this page I only added some acrylic paint in grey and two of the colors in the photos. I also splashed on some black mist.
On this
page I did my own graffiti with words that match the photos. They are made with
a water-resistant black pen and Pro Markers. You can also do your own graffiti
with gelatos and a water pen. I showed a sample of that here in my blog earlier
this month. You can have a look at it over here.
On this page I only added some acrylic paint in grey and two of the colors in the photos. I also splashed on some black mist.
On this
page I used dabbers in different sizes to make circles in different colors. I highlighted
them by using a black and a white pen.
On this
last page I stamped some flowers and colored them with Pro Markers. These could
also be made with Gelatos and water.
I hope you were
inspired! Don´t forget to take a look at Allt Om Scrap's January graffiti challenge! There
will be a cool RAK for a lucky winner!
Thanks for
stopping by! Take care!
