Zentangle doodling and graffiti

I loved this month challenge at Kraft +! I tried zentangle doodling a couple of years ago and it is a lot of fun. So I couldn’t resist this. First I finished a layout with zentangle flowers. It looked nice, but it was not cool enough for me… (I’m not showing it here). Then I came up with the idea to combine zentangle doodling with graffiti. I find it hard to combine zentangle with layered pattered paper and embellishments so I wanted to challenge myself with that. Here is the result:

I doodled the letters on kraft paper and colored it with pencils.

I also stamped some splashes on the background.

And added some chipboard stars colored with an ink pad.

(The text says SPLIT! which is the Swedish word for what DD is doing at the photo. I cannot find the English word for it. Maybe you can help me?)

2 layouts for pixels and papers August challenge (my layout)

Today I show you a layout that I made for Pixels and papers August challenge. I also show a layout that my 6-year old daughter did for the same challenge (look here)! We really had a great time doing this.

The challenge is to get inspired by the photo below and to tell how you were inspired by the image.

This is my interpretation:

I was inspired by the bright colors on the black and white background. I used a black and white patterned paper as a background. In the centre I added some bright patterned papers, pink water color, ink etc. I also colored some flowers on the background paper with pens.

Here are two close-ups:

2 layouts for Pixels and papers August challenge (DD's layout)

Today I show you a layout that our 6-year old daughter made for Pixels and papers August challenge.

The challenge is to get inspired by the photo below and to tell how you were inspired by the image.

This is my daughter’s interpretation:

The image made her think of bright colors, which made her think of balloons and birthdays. When she found a photo from her last birthday unwrapping a packet of Rainbow loom, she said that it was perfect as the umbrella in the inspiration image had the colors of a Rainbow. J To accentuate that she crochet a frame with Rainbow loom.

Here is a close-up showing the frame:

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you want to leave some comments for Vendela. It really would make her day!!!

Ice cream and Ferris wheel

After thousands of white cardstocks I have been experimenting with patterned papers as background paper. I always used patterned papers before, but it is about two years ago. And it is quite a challenge for me now. Here are two layouts that I did just for fun. What do you think? Do you like this better? Or white backgrounds?

Here is another one:

The title says "mixed emotions" as you can see by DD's smile that she is frightend at the same time as she loves the Ferris wheel. :-)

Water slide

Here is another page that I did just for fun. As we have summer around here I make a lot of summer layouts right now.

I used yellow acrylic paint and black mist on the background.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Summer vaccation

Here is a page that I did just for fun. I loved these papers and embellishments by Kaiser Craft and I used them to capture the feeling in this photo taken on the first day of DD's first summer vaccation.

I used green water color on the background and a transparent paper with flamingos over it.

I love flamingos! (I bought everything on the market...)

2 Crafty Chipboard sponsors Scrap The Girls

This is my last DT-layout for Scrap The Girls. The whole team will "retire" and there is a call out for a new team!

This month we are happy to be sponsored by 2 Crafty Chipboard. I truly recommend them - they come in all different styles, they are in good quality and is easy to color. I chose the words "Live Laugh Love" and colored it with Gelatos. I also used two small stars that I colored with black ink.

I was lucky to find a lot of summer embellishments (it is summer over here) and patterned papers in the mood board colors. I also splashed gold on the background and used a vellum with gold pineapples.

Here are two close-ups:

I hope you want to join in! Go here for some awesome inspiration and information about the design team call.
