Two Halloween layouts

I thought I better finish my Halloween layouts before it’s time to start creating Christmas layouts. I guess you have seen the December Daily Challenge at Allt Om Scrap so you can guess that there are a lot of Christmas colors, papers and embellishments dancing around in my head trying to find the right partner to make up an idea for a layout… If you want to join in on the challenge you can read more here.
But first I want to celebrate Halloween here at my blog. :)
I have two layouts to share. The first one shows DD and a friend making Halloween pumpkins. As I have never done any Halloween layout before I thought it was fun to make it in traditional colors with a lot of orange.
I have used a lot of gesso, some petrol blue acrylic paint and splashed on both Dylusions Ink Spay and acrylic paint in many different colors.

The second layout shows DD and her little scary friends at our Halloween party. The text says “When the skeleton is having a party the pirate and the bat is coming”. I wanted the layout to be dark and “scary” and I didn’t want to use orange. First I draw a big white spider web on the background. Then I used different patterned papers, tape, gesso and black Dylusions Ink Spray. I also used some muslin to look like spider web. The bats are made using a die.

And a close-up:

So what do you think? Would you dare to be in that content?
Thanks for popping by! Have a nice week!!

I love the colors of autumn and I always make sure we spend a lot of time outdoors to enjoy it! I wanted the layout to be as colorful as the photo so I used some Dylusions Ink Spray on the background. I also used some gesso and acrylic paint as usual…

Joy

In the Sunday issue of Allt om Scrap that went up yesterday the DT-girls were asked to scrap lift a layout by Marja. It’s a gorgeous and very inspiring layout and I chose to lift the dots, the black and white flower and the heart.
The picture of DD is taken at her kindergarten and it shows the children’s drawings when they were asked to draw and talk about different feelings. DD answered that joy was to play with grandpa as he is so playful. I thought that was so cute that I wanted to save that memory… The black arrows show that the photo with the text is an enlargement of the note on the other photo.

I used a lot of mist and paint on the background as I wanted the artistic feeling in the children’s paintings to spill over on the layout. The dots are made using modeling paste to make some texture. The wooden frame is broken into two parts.
I also want to share with you what’s going to happen at Allt om Scrap in December. We are going to have a “December Daily” with the possibility to scrap about one new word every day. As I don’t feel like translating all those words I continue in Swedish… (Hope you don’t mind).
Under hela december kommer vi att publicera ett ord om dagen som vi i redaktionen förknippar med månaden december. Alltså en December Daily.

Vi vet alla att denna månad är stressig och ändå är den fylld med så mycket glädje, värme och gemenskap. Något man lätt glömmer i all julstress.

Thanks for popping by! Don’t forget to join my giveaway that runs until the 30 November! I wish you a wonderful week!!

In the center of our life

This picture of DD is taken from above and I thought it looked so funny. When looking at it I came up with this idea, and it’s definitely true that she is in the center of our life! ;) In every ways…
The design with patterned papers, tape and embellishments are used to enhance the message. I also added some acrylic paint.

Thanks for looking!!

Don’t forget I’m having a giveaway. Pop over

3 new layouts and a giveaway!

There’s a new issue of Allt om Scrap today. And this time there is a little interview with me. :) To celebrate that I thought I should have a giveaway here at my blog! This is what you can win.
A close up:

All you have to do is to become a follower (if you aren’t already) and to leave a comment on this post! I will ship worldwide so everyone is welcome to join in. (If you want to leave a comment but not to be part of the giveaway just let me know).
The winner will be presented on this blog at the 1st of December.
I was supposed to pick my three favorite layouts too but I chose to make three new layouts that represent my style instead.
The first one shows a picture of me and DD. She is not screaming, she just opens her mouth. I love the picture because it catches the feeling that I always have when I’m photographed together with children. I stand there smiling but I have no idea what expression they have. They can do a lot of things that makes me look too serious…
I have used Dylusions Ink Spray, gesso and stamps to create the background.
On this one I have worked with gesso, acrylic paint and doodling. There is a little tag behind the photo that you can pull out. On it there is a photo that shows how fun DD had as a complement to the picture with the concentrated expression that I chose for the layout.
On the last layout I used Dylusions Ink Spray to create the balloons. I used some gesso behind the photo which is affecting the Ink Spray. I also did some stamping, doodling and splashed acrylic paint in a lot of different colors.
Thanks for looking!!! I hope you feel inspired by the content in the giveaway and chose to join in! :) Have a nice day!

Apples

There is a really fun challenge over at ARTastic this month! You should be inspired by an art quilt by Kay D. Haerland and the additional criterias are fabric and stitching. Isn’t that inspiring? There is so much fun you can do with that! Here’s what I did for my CT layout:

I used two fabric embellishments that are actually made for ironing on cloths. :) I also doodled some leafs, cut them out and stitched them together. Here are some close ups:

I’m quite satisfied with the picture of DD in our apple tree with the big apples in the foreground. It looks like she is reaching for the apples but she is actually showing me where the different rooms are in her fantasy house… But, who cares, it’s a perfect picture to scrap about the fact that we have a lot of apples this year, isn’t it? :)
You are never bored when having a child around…
Thanks for looking!!! Take care!

Birthday Cake

It’s Sunday which means there is a new Sunday issue up at Allt Om Scrap! This time the DT-girls have interpreted a sketch. I loved the sketch but I had to turn it around to make it fit the picture that I wanted to use.

I used a lot of different paint on the background. (I actually started out with a white cardstock.) Then I doodled the circle that is part of the sketch, and stamped some arrows to accentuate the birthday cake even more. Finally I added some embellishments.
I liked the idea of using non-traditional colors and embellishments on a birthday layout. And it was loads of fun to mess with colors like this!

Thanks for looking!! And don’t forget to pop over to Allt om scrap’s blog, because there are a lot more awesome inspiration!!

Going minimalistic

At Kraft It Up! this month the challenge is to create a minimalistic page (with a large amount of “white space”) on kraft. Ha, ha! That was a challenge for me!
I must say that I was really satisfied with the way it turned out – even though I kept thinking about what I could have done with all that space left… ;)

I misted some circles and doodled to make it look like flowers. I also doodled some leaves and cut out. You can also see some stamped cameras, acrylic paint, brads and film strips cut in half.

So what do you think? Should I turn into a minimalistic scrapper? Or should I continue to add too much of everything?
Thanks for popping by!
By the way… there are some awesome CT examples to look at here.
