3 layouts

I am sorry that I have been absent from your blogs for a while. The reason is that I have started a new job, which means that I am travelling a lot. Now things are finally starting to go back to “normal”, and the internet connection that I use when travelling is working too. I have three layouts to show you.

The first is a DT layout for Allt Om Scrap. The challenge was to create with complementary colors (I don't know if it's called that in English... sorry... But I hope you understand what I mean...).

The second is a DT layout for Punky Scraps:

And the inspiration photo...

The third is a DT layout for Allt Om Scrap.

Thanks for popping by!! I promise to come and visit you all this week! I can't wait to see what you have been up to!! Take care!

Guest DT TCR # 157

This is my Guest DT layout for The Color Room TCR # 157. It is a color combination that I am not so comfortable with. But I really like the outcome so I guess you could say that this challenge finally made me comfortable with creating with colors that I am not so comfortable with. Does that make sense??

And a close up:
Thanks for looking!!! Have a nice weekend! :)

A knitted playground

(Om du letar efter Allt Om Scraps bloghop så klicka här.)

The challenge at Kraft It Up this month is to create in your own style. This is how my page turned out:
Bright and arty is how Mel described it at Kraft It Up’s blog. I used gesso, watercolor, stamps, washi tape, doodling, flair buttons and a wood veneer – just as usual.

The photo shows DD playing at a playground that is all knitted! It was SO beautiful to look at! I took a lot of photos...

A close-up:
It is really fun to look at what the designers and the participants consider “their own style”. :) I recommend you to pop over here and have a look by yourself!!
Thanks for popping by! Take care!!!

This year we don't need any umbrellas

(Om du letar efter Allt Om Scraps bloghop klicka här!)
This month at ARTastic you should be inspired by the painting Splash by Alan Louis. You should also use watercolor paints/pencils on your work.
I always use watercolors on my layouts nowadays and I just went on the way I usually do. When finished I noticed that it is not that visible… But it is there… in pink and yellow – I promise!
As we have had a marvelous summer here in Sweden this year with a lot of sunny days and less rain than usual, I thought I should do a layout about that instead of one about rain. The title on my layout is: This year we don’t need any umbrellas. ;)
The inspiration painting:

The umbrellas are from MME's “Find your wings and fly”. I love that line! On the close-ups you can see the pink watercolor. The yellow watercolor is left of the pink geo-tag. ;) The photo is taken at our favorite place to swim. You can actually swim in the waterfall! :))

Thanks for looking!! Take care!!!

Strawberries

Here is another layout that I made” just because”. The photo shows DD picking strawberries in our garden. I wanted to use red on the layout to make the red strawberries on the photo more visible. I also wanted to pick up the pink in her bikini.
I colored the background with yellow and pink watercolors and gesso. The black and white stripes are washi tape and the text is written with a Dymo (my fave at the moment).
Here’s a close up:

Wearing ice cream as a lipstick

July’s challenge is up at Punky Scraps today! This month we have a mood board and a sketch to inspire you. Those who know me knows that these are not my colors… But all the yellow made me think of the sun – and here is what I ended up with:

The title of the layout is “Wearing ice cream as a lipstick”.
I also want to tell you about the summer challenge that is up at Allt Om Scrap. We have a gorgeous sketch for you. Pop over here to have a look yourself! :)
Thanks for looking!!! I hope you feel inspired and choose to join in at these challenges!

Action all the time

If you like to be challenged you should play along at Kraft It Up this month! The challenge is to “create a layout using a different style than you normally create, for example if you are a textured/layered scrapper try clean and simple...”. Could it be more challenging than that?
As I normally create with texture and layers I took Mel’s “advice” and made a clean and simple layout…
I used white mist and some light pink acrylic paint on the background. On top of that there are some washi tape, doodling and three hearts – and that is it! That leaves a lot of “white space” too, which is not common around here…

Midsummer dance

Today I want to show a summer layout that I did “just because” and not for any challenge. In Sweden we are celebrating Midsummer’s Day in June. Part of the celebration is dancing around a maypole to specific songs when doing special moves. Our daghter and her friend were so cute when they were dancing. They did all the moves correctly – and were very concentrated. :)
A lot of flowers on the papers, gesso, stamps, doodling and washi tape…
The flair button is part of a prize pack from That’s just so cute. Thanks girls! It’s written in Norwegian which gives the page an “exotic” touch. :) (All Swedes understands Norwegian – at least on this level. But it’s still a different language.)

A new bicycle!

ARTastic’s July challenge is to be inspired by a charcoal and pastel painting by Lorraine Lewitzka. The criteria is to create using black, white and predominately one more color. I loved the color combination in the painting so I stuck to that.

My newly arrived package from Sodalicious was perfect for this. (Actually I love their stuff and I want to use it all the time.) The chevron pattern to the right is made with Dylusions Ink on a template. The blurriness is made by spraying white Dylusions Ink on top of the pink one to make them blend.
A close-up:
Thanks for looking!! I hope to see you playing around at ARTastic this month!!! :)

Midsummer girl

That’s just so cute has a challenge this month to create a layout in one hour. I thought it would be fun to try – and I made it! Actually it was quite interesting. I did get to know myself a little more – at least as a scrapbooker. Now I know that I don’t like to stress when creating and I know that most of the time I spend on a layout is thinking and searching for the exact shade… And I want to spend a long time doing it, listening to soft jazz music… For me scrapbooking is connected with relaxation and not stress.
But I love challenges… so I might just try it again… ;)
Here’s the result:
I first added gesso and then continued with mist, stamping, and washi tape. I finally splashed some acrylic paint and added some triangles. That’s what you can do in one hour if you know what to do before starting and you have a heating gun to dry between the layers.
Here is a close-up:
Thanks for looking!! Have a nice weekend!

Tivoli

Punky Scraps has an awesome colorful summer collage as an inspiration this month. There is also a sketch to follow. I loved the vibrant colors in the collage and the feeling that there are too much of everything. I wanted to transform that to my layout and used a photo taken recently at Tivoli.

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks for looking! I hope you all are having a fabulous week!!!

Jeans

This layout is made for Allt Om Scrap. The theme of the challenge was jeans. I have had an idea to make a monochromatic layout in jeans colors for ages. This was my chance! I almost did it but I added some other colors too as I thought it looked better that way.
I used a lot of different jeans patterned papers and there is also a piece of fabric. The text is made with a Dymo – my new fave that I got as a birthday present from my dad!
If you are wondering what the text says it says that DD is sitting like a teenager even though she is only four years old. :)
If you want some more inspiration on the jeans theme pop over here to see some other DT-samples!
Thanks for looking! I wish you a fabulous weekend!

Princess

This layout is made for ScrapFriends Color Palette Challenge #13. I loved the color palette and I have stuck to the right nuances.
The photo is taken when DD is on her way to a masquerade. Need I say that the other girls were jealous of her dress?
Here is some close ups:

A lot of layering, gesso, mist, acrylic paint and stamping…
Thanks for looking and leaving comments! Have a nice weekend! :)

Recycling at ARTastic

The challenge at ARTastic this month is to use recycled material (i.e. minimal commercial products) on your layout. The inspiration piece is ‘Robin’s Nest’ by environmental artist Susan Schenk.
Interesting, when you start thinking… It’s quite hard to find anything that is not commercial products. I mean, even if it’s not a scrapbooking product it’s still a commercial product. All I could think of was flowers and branches from the garden. But I like colorful layouts… Then I came up with the idea to use garbage. That can’t be seen as a commercial product! So I want out to the trash can to get the product packaging from DD’s play toys. :)
Everything on the layout is garbage, except for the photo, some mixed media products and washi tape. Here’s the result:
I had a great time creating this. And when DD saw it she wanted to do the same. So we are spreading thoughts about recycling to the next generation. :)
Thanks for looking!! I hope you want to play along! Don’t forget to pop over at the ARTastic blog. There’s some awesome inspiration by the DT girls!
